BREXIT |OT| A minister always pays his debts

Kinda LTTP, so sorry if this has already been discussed.
Patrick Kielty made an epic takedown of Boris's "Better Brexit" in this twitter thread. Worth a read:

It's pretty depressing that a comedian has done a better job of laying out, clearly and simply, the repercussions of Brexit on the GFA and the future of Ireland than the media.

I wonder how brexiteers will feel about sending their kids to NI again 10 years from now.

Have we laughed at the BBC's helpful infographic about the next six months yet? Because if we have, lets have another laugh at it anyway:

So no matter what the government do... ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN. Thanks for that.

There's a space debris tracking system that the EU is running and that the UK will no longer have access to if things continue like this. Without that, launching and maintaining satellites becomes a lottery since at any one moment a random piece of junk from our decades of neglect and failures in space-faring can zip past the horizon and collide with your hugely expensive piece of kit at lightning fast speeds.
They will lose access just because there's no deal in place, not because the EU is unwiling or unable to continue supplying the data. There's alternative trackers too (the USA offer one, for example), so it's just the unwillingness or disability of the UK to plan ahead that's the issue there. All they did is barf out a mini warning in passing during the recent-ish government impact assessment release.

Also, whaaaaat theeeee fuuuuuck?
Not this part:

We know no-deal Brexit will bring the pain. This, too is not new:

However, I do struggle with this small sentence that can be found near the end of the short article:

Are you Brits insane? Is there lead in your water pipes or something? It's not even "no-deal Brexit", it's "Brexit", full stop. I mean yes, the next paragraph seems to imply that the government isn't providing even the most basic guidance and is leaving the poor fucks to their own devices, but come on, even that can be included in an assessment.
Even the most basic three-page "yep we're hosed" powerpoint presentation made by an intern on their own time would help. How do these companies not crash and burn if they're marching into the future with blinders on and no plan...?

You'd be shocked at how many enormous companies have no care for the future outside of the current quarter.

Yeah we all know that the blockchain only gets faster and better the more transactions you do. On the plus side maybe the power plants will explode well enough to sink the british isles so the border issue will solve itself.

This article doesn't make any sense.

Under the plan, which May is likely to put forward later this month, the U.K. would back down on its opposition to new checks on goods moving between the British mainland and Northern Ireland. In exchange, May’s team would need the EU to compromise and allow the whole of the U.K. including Northern Ireland to stay in the bloc’s customs regime as part of the temporary backstop.
The plan is to have checks between NI and rUK while the whole UK stays in the custom union?

The new plan will need to be accompanied by wording in both the exit agreement and the political declaration on the future trade deal that makes clear the backstop almost certainly won’t be needed, the official said. But if May’s proposals for the future trade agreement are rejected by the EU, the government may have to consider staying in a partial customs union forever, the person said.

2 things....

Anna Soubry demolished Mogg on C4 News earlier, he really can not handle anyone coming back at him with facts and refuses to be cowed by his posh bullshit. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fubwWcOz8XY at 16:20 mark.

Second, you will notice the Conservative party official pushback on Ref2 is that Labour would take us back to square one, no will of the people BS. That is proof definite that will of the people is busted flush in the focus groups.

Like.... what? How the fuck are these mongrels still stuck in the 18th century.
You Brits do learn about colonialism and how inherently evil and destructive it is in school and these are just some ignorant idiots who wanted to get a reaction out if people.....right ?

I have to admit colonialism was a very small part of our history courses back in school ( gotta make room for the post napoleon unification hijinks and nazis, nazis, nazis) but our teacher was always very clear how Europe did the world dirty.
