Media Create Sales: Week 38, 2018 (Sep 17 - Sep 23)

The only games I think are off the table are SSB4 and Super Mario Maker, and that's just because of the sequels. Everything else is possible, though stuff with heavy gamepad implementations like Nintendo Land are probably very unlikely.

Hmm, I think they are underestimating SMP a little. I'm expecting first week to veer a bit closer to 150k.

Edit: on that more, SMP has taken over 1st place on the Amazon daily ranking, ahead of COD.

I believe their digital numbers are as reliable as VGChartz retail numbers.

And for those that say "well at least it's some sort of number based on some sort of unknown methodology", one could say the exact same thing about VGChartz. So they should be treated the same.
The two things can't really be compared.

They should highly consider remaking Devil's Third for Switch in the same way they did Devil's Third Online as a new UE4 game, but retain the name and characters and whatnot.
No, Devil’s Third was not received well critically or commercially.

The brand has no value and the dev name carries no weigh based on the naruto game’s performance

I really doubt that Nintendo would actively block it. If anything, they'd be keen to make some actual profit out of the money they pumped into the project. It's really up to Atlus and if they'd be interested in porting it (or getting someone else to port it).
Nintendo has shown no interest to port games that were commercial failures before and they certainly won't start now with Switch where they can do far better investments.

Sin & Punishment was the biggest first party commercial failure in all of Nintendo’s history up until TW101. It got two Virtual Console re-releases, a full Chinese localisation for the iQue and a high budget sequel for the Wii released worldwide.

Commercial failure has never stopped Nintendo from revisiting their past games and I doubt it’ll start now. If anything, they’ll be keen to make some money back on the many failed investments made on Wii U.

You are talking for Virtual Console releases that cost almost nothing and a sequel (very far from high budget).

Can't wait to see your comments when Nintendo will announce W101 port which was teased by PG at the same time as B1-2 ports last year.

The sequel wasn't a high budget game. It was a pretty low-to-mid budget game (which was completely fine). The sequel got greenlited because the Wii VC release sold pretty well.
I meant reletively high budget; I mean, outside of Star Fox Zero (and maybe the original version of Star Fox 64), it's probably the biggest budget rail shooter ever made.

Anyway, the point is that commercial failure isn't a deathknell when it comes to future revisiting from Nintendo. They've gone back and brought back plenty of "failed" or forgotten franchises time and time again; so past commercial performance isn't likely to affect the likelihood of any particular Wii U game getting ported over.

Some of your Nintendo comments/predictions/wishes are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off, like holy moly.

[PS4+NSW] Mega Man 11 (27 days) - 46.000
[NSW] Super Mario Party (24 days) - 279.000
[PS4] Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (17 days) - 157.000
[PS4] Soul Calibur VI (11 days) - 64.000
[NSW] Dark Souls Remastered (11 days) - 38.000
[PS4] Red Dead Redemption 2 (3 days) - 123.000

not necessarily a high bar :P

though when you think about it, Nintendo was the only publisher willing to put some money into rail shooters. at least we got Star Successor out of it

Sin & Punishment came out only in Japan at the end of Nintendo 64 life, it got years later a Virtual Console release worldwide and apparently its sales showed Nintendo there was potential for a low budget sequel on Wii. It was far from biggest bomb in Nintendo's history and far from comparable with Wii U Nintendo failures.

Starfox assault had pretty high production values for its time, so much so that namco had to show it off twice in smash haha

Bayonetta 2 is a third party IP financed from Nintendo but even if we want to talk for failures Bayonetta 2 sold at least 600-700k worldwide at full price with the sequel having potential for much more.

Tokyo Mirage Session FE and The Wonderful 101 are at half of that.

You know why I'm here.

Better Tracker has reached 200k! Nomura tensai! Also, dat increase.

When will Tracker reach 200k? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

True, but it's not a pure rail shooter. In fact, the rail shooter sections are a minority within the game. Otherwise it would definitely be No2 behind SF0 in that regard! (the incredible soundtrack alone would see to that!)

584./253. [WIU] Tokyo Mirage Session FE # <RPG> (Nintendo) {2015.12.26} (¥6.700) - 3.417 / 55.387 (-82%) (26.340 <48,16%>)

USA
< 100.000

I'm sure everyone wants to port this game.
The Wonderful 101 Japan+USA < Tokyo Mirage Session FE Japan+USA

As for Super Mario Party sinobi expects a good portion of sales to go digital because of its multiplayer nature. Even if they represent only 10-20% of total sales they are a respectable number if the game ends as high as expected and an improvement from almost zero digital sales of 3DS.

PREDICTION LEAGUE OCTOBER 2018

Predict how much these titles will sell in the month (from Oct 1 to Oct 28):

[PS4+NSW] Mega Man 11 (27 days) 50000
[NSW] Super Mario Party (24 days) 270000
[PS4] Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (17 days) 150000
[PS4] Soul Calibur VI (11 days) 60000
[NSW] Dark Souls Remastered (11 days) 12000
[PS4] Red Dead Redemption 2 (3 days) 170000

forgot about work X work. Has that even been talked about since announcement.

Not that it will affect sales, but Super Mario Party looks like it's missing a lot. Despite getting rid of the car.

If Star Successor was a low-budget sequel, I'd love to have another low-budget sequel on the Switch.

Any word on Dragalia Lost or is it still too early to hear anything? Like it quite a bit, wondering if it’ll do as well or better than FE Heroes. Think the single art style lends to a stronger presentation and the pricing also seems more fair.

Sounds pretty good.
Guess time will tell if there’s a drop off or not.
Support and new content need to be good too

Pretty impressive the Switch has been able to match last years total to this point. I guess this Holiday we'll see if Pokemon Pikachu/Eevee can match the system selling ability of Mario Odyssey from last year
